Description

Description

The EMAX Industrial Plus ESP07V080V1PK is a complete shop air system: a 7.5 HP, 80-gallon two-stage vertical air compressor delivering 31 CFM (26 CFM at its 175 PSI maximum), packaged with a 30 CFM refrigerated air dryer so the air reaching your tools and paint guns is already dry. It runs on 230V single-phase power, so it fits shops without three-phase service.

Two things separate this unit from standard piston compressors in its class. First, EMAX’s patented Silent Air noise suppression, which targets intake noise — the loudest source of compressor sound — with noise-reducing baffle plates and high-capacity filter media providing up to 1000% more filtration than standard setups. The result is up to 50% quieter operation, at or below conversational volume, without the cost and restricted service access of an enclosed cabinet. Second, a pressure-lubricated pump: a gear-driven oil pump delivers a continuous flow of oil through rifle-drilled passages in the crankshaft and connecting rods to every bearing point, with a spin-on automotive-style oil filter keeping the oil clean. Estimated pump life is 70,000 hours.

The unit is ETL, ASME, and CRN certified and ships with a 1-year standard warranty, extendable to 5 years on the compressor — with a limited lifetime pump warranty available through EMAX’s SMART OIL program (details under Warranty below).

Features

Pressure-Lubricated Pump

A gear-driven oil pump mounted to the rear of the crankshaft generates positive oil pressure, delivering oil precisely where it is needed — unlike splash-lubricated systems. This reduces friction, wear, and heat in high-stress, continuous-duty operation.

Oil pump assembly diagram with pressure gauge, callouts 1 through 5

  1. Oil pump bleeder valve — quick, efficient priming of the oil pump
  2. Liquid-filled oil pressure gauge — clear, accurate readings during operation
  3. Automotive-style gear oil pump — pressurizes the crankshaft bearings and upper connecting rod assembly
  4. Adjustable oil pump regulator — precise oil pressure adjustment across RPM ranges
  5. Automotive-style spin-on oil filter — removes debris and contaminants to extend pump service life

100% Cast Iron Pump

All major pump components are cast iron — crankcase, cylinder heads, cylinders, connecting rods, crankshaft, and high-pressure piston. No aluminum sleeves under the paint: cast iron handles high-duty-cycle compression where aluminum components cannot.

Finned cast iron cylinder castings diagram, callouts 1 through 5

  1. Cast iron cylinders — CNC-machined for flatness and precise tolerances; the precision bore reduces oil carryover
  2. Deep cooling fins — maximize surface area for cylinder cooling under high-duty-cycle operation
  3. 100% cast iron construction — no aluminum sleeves
  4. Deep-bored, threaded holes — solid head retention and proper torque application for long gasket life
  5. Precision-honed cylinder surfaces — easier break-in, reduced oil carryover, longer ring life

Cylinder Heads and Disc Valves

Solid cast iron cylinder heads avoid the head-gasket failures common to aluminum heads, and the tapped holes hold torque without retorquing. The CNC-machined concentric ring (disc) valves are precision surface-ground for sealing and long service life — valve inspection takes minutes: remove the retainer, lift out the valve, reinstall.

Pistons and Connecting Rods

Piston and connecting rod assembly diagram, callouts 1 through 4

  1. Cast iron high-pressure pistons — withstand heavy loads and prevent cylinder scoring
  2. CNC-machined solid cast iron connecting rods — maximum rigidity and strength at the crankshaft end, where failures typically start
  3. Replaceable bearing inserts and wrist pins — the connecting rod assembly is fully rebuildable, not throw-away
  4. Aluminum low-pressure pistons — balanced and efficient for the low-stress first stage (~45 PSI)

Piston and connecting rod assembly diagram, callouts 5 through 7

  1. Four-ring piston design — two oil control rings and two overlapping compression rings minimize compression loss and oil carryover
  2. Reinforced rod base — maintains strength where aluminum rods commonly fail
  3. Rifle-drilled rod oil port — oil travels through the crankshaft and up the rod to the piston pin and bearing for continuous lubrication

Cast Iron Flywheel and Belt Drive

The 7.5 HP pump runs a 20-inch cast iron flywheel with two B-style groove belts and nine large cooling fins. The flywheel’s mass generates greater kinetic energy, reducing amp draw, while the fins add pump cooling capacity. The multi-belt B-width drive provides more grip surface at lower belt tension than narrow single-belt designs — less strain on motor and pump bearings, lower noise and vibration, longer belt life.

Four cast iron flywheel designs with multiple belt grooves

Continuous Run with Head Unloader

This packaged electric unit includes a head unloader system, recommended for duty cycles of 40% or greater. At preset pressure, the pilot valve unloads the compressor and holds the intake valve open — the motor keeps running instead of repeatedly starting under load, cutting amp draw by up to 60% while unloaded and letting cool air circulate through the cylinder. Opening the ball valve connected to the pilot valve allows true continuous-run operation under high-duty-cycle workloads.

Dual-Bolt Belt Tensioner

The dual-bolt tensioner makes belt adjustment precise without pry bars, keeping alignment true and belt tension correct for longer belt life.

Automatic Tank Drain

A dual-timer electric auto drain expels moisture from the air receiver tank on an adjustable cycle — set drain intervals from 1 to 45 minutes and set how long the drain stays open.

Pump Riser

The pump mounting plate riser raises the pump for 360-degree airflow from the flywheel across the oil reservoir, and lets air flow under the pump for maximum cooling.

Warranty

The compressor carries a 1-year standard warranty covering defects in material, workmanship, and parts, including 1 year of warranty labor from an authorized technician. Registering at emaxwarranty.com and following the SMART OIL maintenance plan extends coverage to a 5-year warranty. With the SMART OIL auto-ship program, EMAX extends the pressure-lubricated pump to a limited lifetime pump warranty — non-prorated, with no hour limits — and all other non-wear components to 5 years. To maintain warranty status, the break-in oil is changed after the first 70 hours of operation, then every 6 months or 1,000 hours, whichever comes first.

The refrigerated air dryer carries a 1-year standard warranty, extendable to 3 years by registering and purchasing one Airbase dryer filter replacement kit per year.

FAQ

What electrical service does it need?

230V single-phase (+/- 10%) with a 50 A recommended breaker. Full load is 38.9 A with the 1.15 service factor, and peak starting draw is 210 A. The magnetic starter is included.

Can it run all day?

The unit is rated for a 60% duty cycle and is continuous-run capable: the included head unloader keeps the motor running unloaded at preset pressure, and opening the pilot valve’s ball valve allows continuous-run operation under high-duty-cycle workloads.

Why does it ship with an air dryer?

Compressed air carries moisture that damages tools and ruins paint work. The included 30 CFM refrigerated dryer removes that moisture, and its built-in .001 micron prefilter and .005 micron coalescing prefilter clean the air before it reaches your lines — a complete air system out of the crate.

How does it ship?

It ships via freight, crated at 48″ x 46″ x 87″. Contact sales@mygaragesupplies.com or call 307-381-1810 to arrange delivery scheduling.
